SuperSport United’s teenage midfielder, Morne Nel, is heading out to Portugal this weekend to train with Vitoria de Guimaraes.

The 19-year-old, who has been dubbed as one of South Africa’s best young talents, has not has the easiest of years in 2015/16, however will be using the current break to showcase his talents in Europe.
According to Siya sources, Nel left for Portugal on Sunday evening to undergo a two-week training spell with Guimaraes, a team that have shown lots of interest in South Africa of late, teaming up with Vasco da Gama and pursuing Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Bongani Zungu.
Now, while the Siya crew is informed that Nel’s spell in Portugal is not a trial as such, he will be afforded the chance to show Guimaraes what he can do over the next two weeks.
It remains to be seen what will come of Nel’s training spell with the top-flight Portuguese outfit, or whether he will train with the seniors or youth side, however the trip will no doubt be benficial as he continues his development.

Nel, who has previously spent time with Tottenham Hotspur in the UK, made his PSL debut at the age of just 17, and has played for South Africa at U17, U20 and U23 level up to now.
