Mamelodi Sundowns have rejected a multimillion Rand bid for the 2015/16 Absa Premiership Player of the Season.
Billiat is arguably in the best form of his career at the age of 26, and it comes as no surprise that there has been increased interest from abroad for the player.
The midfielder has developed his game greatly under the mentorship of Pitso Mosimane, and has contributed immensely to the Brazilians' success both locally and on the continent thus far.
In saying that, indications are that the club is reluctant to let a player of Billiat’s caliber leave the club without getting their asking price.
The latest news reaching the Siya crew is that Masandawana have rejected a bid of just over R25 million for the Zimbabwe international from an undisclosed club in Eastern Europe.
It last week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, issue 986, the Siya crew reported that Al Ahly would be willing to table a figure of R17.8 million for the attacking midfielder, which Sundowns deemed insufficient as they are looking to cash in on close to R37.2 million.
Though the latest offer for the player still does not match Sundowns’ asking price, the deal would have seen Billiat net three times more in salary than what he does in South Africa at the moment.
