Malian Striker Dies At Age 27

Malian striker Abdoulaye Sekou Camara, who plies his trade for Indonesian club Pelita Bandung Raya, has died of a heart attack at the age of 27.

Reports suggest that the former Santos and Jomo Cosmos forward was training with the team on Saturday night when the incident happened.

It is said that they player did not plead for help or show signs of pain as he went down after failing to catch a ball. He reportedly stayed down before sitting up and laying down again.

That was when his teammate realised something was wrong and he had fallen unconscious.

Doctors struggled to try and resuscitate the player at the venue before he was rushed to a nearby hospital but it was later determined, via the analysis of a physician, he had died of a heart attack.

A post mortem was reportedly not done due to the request of the family and his body will be sent to Mali to be laid to rest.
