After Orlando Pirates lost 2-0 in the 2nd leg of the CAF Champions League Final to Al Ahly in Cairo, captain Lucky Lekgwathi said he was proud of his team, despite the loss.
Lekgwathi went onto congratulate the Al Ahly team and lamented the fact that his team hadn't take their chances, while the opposition had taken theirs.
But Lekgwathi said that the team would bounce back, and moved on to their next fixtures in a positive frame of mind, after achieving a lot during this campaign.
Lekgwathi said after the game, "Playing in front of all those supporters who were cheering for the whole 90- minutes was not easy.
"But I'm proud of my boys, I think we showed character and did well. I want to congratulate the Al Ahly captain and the whole team.
"We used to play in front of crazy supporters, and for me it wasn't difficult. The lasers are a problem though.
"At some stages we controlled the game, we created chances but the difference was they buried theirs.
"We played well, but we gave Abou-Treika too much space sometimes.
"The mood is still high, the boys are still young and they've played some of the best teams in Africa, the spirit is still very high and now we're focusing on the Telkom and our next games."
One of the traveling Buccaneer fans said afterwards, "We're disappointed about the loss, but we all saw the quality of Aboutreika and it was his last game. The fans came out in numbers to support him and he did wonders.
"We came to Egypt to take the cup but it was not our day, hopefully we'll bounce back and next time we can come and take the cup."
