Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Lebogang Mokoena, has endured a rough time at the club over the past two seasons but has down-played talks linking him with a move away.
'Cheeseboy' has struggled for game time in the last two campaigns due to persistent injuries and a lack of form. Last season he was one of the first team players who was relegated to play with the U19’s in the Multi-Choice Diski Challenge.
Sundowns recently took the option to extend the player's contract until the end of next year and the player refused to be drawn on speculation surrounding his career and a potential move.
Speaking about the speculation the 28-year-old said, “I have also read that and what I can say is that I am still contracted to Sundowns until the end of 2016. I really can’t say I’m moving or I’m not moving. Time will only tell and I’ll see what the future holds for me in the 2015/16 season.”
“Obviously I will have to work hard. There will be new players coming in and the coach will give a chance to those who raise their hands to be counted in the team,” Mokoena told Soccer Laduma.
