Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund has left Itumeleng Khune out of the team for the game against Swaziland, set to take place on 15 November.
Igesund has named two goalkeepers in Senzo Meyiwa, of Orlando Pirates, and Ronwen Williams, from SuperSport United, for the game.
Igesund has decided to rest his captain to give the other goalkeepers a chance to prove their worth in the team.
Khune is expected to return to the team for the game against reigning world and European champions, Spain, at Soccer City on November 19.
"I have just decided to rest Khune because I want to give other goalkeepers a chance. I know what Khune has done and I have also seen what Senzo Meyiwa is doing and I want to give him the chance to play," said Igesund.
"I am happy to give the other guys a chance as well. But we are announcing the team to play Spain on Thursday and Khune will probably be back in the team," Igesund concluded.
