Last year, in Soccer Laduma edition 893, the Siya crew broke the news that following Motaung Jnr’s retirement from professional football, he would be given a place in senior management.

At the time, the Siya source explained that the 34-year-old was studying to prepare him for the role. The latest news reaching the Siya desk is that the Amakhosi are in no rush to announce the former striker as CEO and are waiting for him to finish his studies.

A source at the club explained that the post will remain vacant until Motaung Jnr is ready to step in, and indicated that club want him to lead the team in the future - along with his siblings. His brother, Bobby, is currently Chiefs’ Football Manager, while his sisters, Jessica and Kemiso, hold the roles of Marketing Director and Digital Manager respectively.

“From what we all know, Jnr will be the next CEO, but it won’t happen until he finishes his studies, as he studies business. The post will remain vacant until he finishes. He is learning a lot and will also learn from the guys already here at the team,” the source indicated.
