Shongwe Set For Chiefs?
Bidvest Wits midfielder, Jabulani Shongwe, may end up making the move to Kaizer Chiefs before tonight’s transfer window comes to a close.
The 26-year-old appears to have dropped down the pecking order in Gavin Hunt’s side of late, and didn’t feature in any of the club’s first two games of the season in 2016/17.
Now, according to Siya sources, the Amakhosi are looking to try and make a last-minute push to land the former Mamelodi Sundowns man before midnight tonight when the window slams shut.
Sources have revealed that Shongwe was not at Wits training yesterday, and that Chiefs are serious in their attempts to try and bring him on board at Naturena.
The Siya crew will continue to monitor the player’s situation over the course of the day to see whether the move can be done in time or not.
Shongwe played in 25 Absa Premiership games for Wits last season – starting 17 – but hasn’t featured for the club since May 11th.
