SuperSport United head coach Cavin Johnson has confirmed the presence of former Orlando Pirates defender, Lizo Mjempu, at the club’s training.
The 29-year-old left back is currently clubless having been released by Moroka Swallows at the end of his deal in June, and recently underwent an unsuccessful trial with PSL new boys Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Mjempu has now been given another chance to prove himself, this time with Matsatsantsa, although Johnson says that he’s yet to make a decision on him.
The SuperSport head coach told the Siya crew, “He’s with us, but we’re just having a look at him, if he does well then maybe we’ll sign him.”
Having started the 2013/14 campaign brightly, Matsatsantsa find themselves unbeaten and the top of the PSL, and with left-backs Innocent Mdledle and Sibusiso Khumalo already on their books, Mjempu will have to work hard to impress the club’s technical team and earn a contract.
