Jali: Injury Contributed

By Soccer-Laduma - Jan 02, 2013 10:48 AM

Orlando Pirates midfielder Andile Jali has been struggling with a knee injury and was subsequently dropped from the final Bafana Bafana squad to do duty in the 2013 African Cup of Nations, much to the consternation of many supporters.

Though the player is disappointed that he didn't make the final squad, he feels it is his injury that has contributed to his exclusion from the team, and not his general form.
He told Soccer-Laduma that the time off will help him to heal fully from his injury and wished the national team all the best in the upcoming tournament.
"My injury is not fully healed. I wish I could be there but my injury has let me down. I am behind the team 100% and I know the guys are going to do it. We all want to be part of the team but at times there are situations which we can't control like injury. This will give me time to work on my injury and heal properly. I know the nation is behind the team and they will do very well in the tournament," Jali concluded.
