Khune Admits Chiefs' Performance Was Below-Par

Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune, has admitted of the team's 'unacceptable' performance against Orlando Pirates and has equally pleaded with fans to come out in numbers for their game against Golden Arrows.

Chiefs were humbled 3-1 by the Buccaneers in the Soweto Derby over the weekend, and it could have been a lot worse if it wasn’t for Khune’s heroics in between the poles.

The Amakhosi shot-stopper indicated that the team knows that they were well below par and will be looking to turn things around when they face Golden Arrows in a PSL encounter this evening.

“We didn’t do well. We know, that performance was unacceptable. I just want to tell our supporters, please, come out again in force for the Golden Arrows match on Tuesday evening,” Khune told Chiefs official website.

“They (the fans) always bring their passion and that rubs off on us as players. We want to apologise for what happened against Orlando Pirates. However, we now have to look forward.

“They (Arrows) are quick on the transition and they play a bit like us. We just have to match them. Let’s come rolling out! We want to make you proud!”

Do you think Khune saved Chiefs from embarrassment, how many do you think Bucs would have scored if it wasn’t for Khune? Is that testament to how well Pirates played or how poor Chiefs were?
