Khune Confirms All Is Clear
Kaizer Chiefs fans can now breathe a sigh of relief after goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune confirmed that all is in the clear regarding the injury he sustained on Saturday.
Khune was involved in a collision with defender, Morgan Gould on Saturday afternoon in their 4-0 win over Edu Sports FC during the Nedbank Cup last 32 fixture at FNB Stadium. The shot-stopper was immediately stretchered off and it was feared he would not recover anytime soon, after Gould's studs left marks across his rib cage.
'Itu' posted on his Instagram account that after going for X-Rays, it's all thumbs up now.
"Just came back from X Ray and all is clear," Khune wrote on his page.
It is not yet clear though whether the former Bafana Bafana number one will travel to Botswana with the team for their CAF Champions League second leg tie against Township Rollers over the weekend.
Khune has just recovered from an ankle injury that has kept him on the sidelines for the better part of the season, and is looking to reclaim the club and country's number one jerseys.
It looks set to be seen if Khune will be roped back into the starting line-up if he travels with the squad, after keeping a clean sheet on Saturday before he was pulled off for Reyaad Pieterse.
