Football Betting Tips

Telstar who are currently placed in 14th place, will welcome Venlo at the TATA Steel Stadion on Friday evening, March 6, looking to surge up the league table.

Second-placed Bidvest Wits square up against Bloemfontein Celtic on Friday, March 6, at Bidvest Stadium. The Clever Boys are fresh from a morale-boosting victory over Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday evening which has seen them leap-frog the defending PSL champions to sit behind log leaders, Kaizer Chiefs. Gavin Hunt’s troops extended their unbeaten to eight matches and subsequently ended Pitso Mosimane’s run of 15 matches without a loss. Phunya Sele Sele have also been on-form of late. They claimed back-to-back wins over Roses United in the Nedbank Cup last 32 round and Platinum Stars in a league encounter last weekend and, are aiming to keep the momentum flowing.

If you are a betting person, here are tips ahead of the fixtures brought to you by Soccer 6 and former PSL star, Glen Salmon.

TELSTAR V VVV VENLO

League table: Telstar 15th and Venlo 10th

Useful facts: In this less than thrilling Dutch First division clash, lowly Telstar host Venlo at the Telstar Stadium. It is hardly a spectacle to get the pulses racing, however, expect plenty of effort and honest toil. With that said, neither outfits are goal machines, so this could be a scrappy affair in the city of Velsen.

Glen Salmon: I’ll say a draw in this one.

WITS V BLOEMFONTEIN CELTIC

League table: Wits 3rd and Celtic 7th

Useful facts: Wits will no doubt still be hurting from their shock loss to Swazi minnows, Royal Leopards, in the CAF Confederations Cup. For such a wealthy team to get turned over by a virtually semi-professional side from Swaziland could likely be viewed as an embarrassment for South African football. Gavin Hunt will undoubtedly be looking for a response when they take on a rejuvenated Celtic in this PSL clash.

Glen Salmon: Wits are at home so we’ll win, obviously.
