Paez Puts Pen To Paper With Chiefs, Club Announcement Imminent
Venezuelan-born striker, Gustavo Paez, has officially put pen to paper on a contract with Kaizer Chiefs. The news has been confirmed by a source within the club’s dealings.
The 26-year-old had been on trial with the Soweto giants for the month of January and has done enough to impress coach Steve Komphela and his technical team during their midseason camp in Potchefstroom.
It was reported earlier this week that the player, who also holds Italian citizenship, had agreed to a deal with the Amakhosi in principal, and that they were looking to agree to clauses in order to finalise the move.
In tomorrow’s edition of Soccer Laduma, the Siya crew reported that the Soweto giants were in the process of completing the deal for the 26-year-old, however, certain sections and clauses needed to be finalised before the player could put pen to paper.
At the time of going in to print, the contract had not yet been completed. However, the Siya crew now has it on good authority that Paez has officially put pen to paper on a contract with Amakhosi.
The Glamour Boys are expected to officially make the announcement in the coming days, or even as early as today, Tuesday - January 31.
The Absa Premiership will resume action next month, and Paez will now be up for selection when Chiefs face Free State Stars at the FNB Stadium on February 8.
