Maluleka Hails Macufe Despite Chiefs Loss

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Maluleka has hailed the impact of the annual Macufe Cup, despite suffering their fourth straight loss in the tournament.
The Amakhosi narrowly lost 1-0 to Bloemfontein Celtic at the Free State Stadium on Sunday afternoon, which has now seen them lose out on claiming the cup for the last four editions.
‘Mido’ told the Siya crew that the coaches gave the chance to other players who haven't been active in the recent league and cup fixtures.
"It's always good to have such games during the FIFA break. It was good we played in the Macufe Cup because it also made sure that we kept active while the other teams were on a break.
“It gave the chance to almost everyone to play and show what they are capable of doing at the team. As Kaizer Chiefs we want to win every game we play in and it was sad we lost against Celtic in the Macufe Cup," Maluleka observed.
Chiefs will now look to get back to winning ways, after going winless in two Absa Premiership encounters when they host the in-form Mpumalanga Black Aces at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, October 17.
