Former Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper, Zama Dlamini, is expected to make his official PSL debut in Chippa United’s colours in their game against Free State Stars.
Dan Malesela’s Chilli Boys will be hosting Ea Lla Koto at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in their opening game of the new Absa Premiership season tonight.
Having joined Chippa from NFD side Witbank Spurs during the off-season, Dlamini has impressed Malesela at training, with the 24-year-old said to have been given the nod to start between the sticks tonight.
Dlamini was outstanding in goals for Siyavutha last season. His inspiring performances and that of his teammates came close to helping the side to qualify for the promotional play-offs at the end of the campaign.
Chippa currently have four goalkeepers on their books in Dlamini, Daniel Akpeyi, Veli Mothwa and Ayanda Masiko. Akpeyi is expected to return to the Eastern Cape club later this week, after being with the Nigeria U23 side for the Olympic Games in Brazil.
