Gyimah Lands Swedish Deal After Bucs Exit
Edwin Gyimah Has Signed For Helsingborg In Sweden
Former Orlando Pirates defender, Edwin Gyimah, has landed himself a contract with Swedish outfit, Helsingborg, after impressing during a trial at the club.
The Siya crew reported earlier this month that the 26-year-old had joined HIF on trial as he looked to secure a deal in Europe, with the Ghanaian international turning out in the club’s colours against Kristianstad in a friendly.
Now it has been confirmed to the crew that the former Buccaneer did do enough to impress at the Swedish second division outlet, and that he has put pen to paper on a two-year deal in the Superettan.
Ryan Hartslief, of Bigtime Sport Management – based in Malaga, Spain – was the man who referred the player, and he has confirmed the deal.
He told the crew, “Edwin is a top player. He is overqualified for this league, but he shall serve them in the short-term and then move on to a bigger platform. The senior Ghana international is looking to help the club gain promotion this season back to the Allsvenskan.”
Gyimah left Pirates at the end of January.
