English midfield man, Craig Clay, has arrived in South Africa to train with Bidvest Wits as he looks to try and secure himself a move to the Absa Premiership.
The 24-year-old, who plays as a central or defensive midfielder, is currently a free agent after helping Grimsby Town achieve promotion last season, and it appears that he is eager to try his hand in South Africa.
According to Siya sources, Clay began training with the Clever Boys today as they returned for preseason ahead of the 2016/17 campaign, with Gavin Hunt looking to bolster his side in order to make another challenge for the league title.
Wits came second in the Absa Premiership in 2015/16 – their highest ever league finish – and after signing a new contract with the club, Hunt will be eager to try and go one step further in the new season.
The club are expected to welcome a number of players to training in the coming weeks, with Clay one of many new faces that will be trying to impress Hunt and his technical team in Braamfontein.
