As predicted by the Siya crew, Chippa United have signed former Dundee FC striker Carl Finnigan on a one-year deal.
Last week, the crew reported that the Chilli Boys were favourites to land the 26-year-old striker after he impressed coach Mark Harrison and his technical team during Chippa’s friendly against neighbours Ajax Cape Town.

Chippa’s COO, Peter Koutroulis, confirmed to the Siya crew that the Chilli Boys have signed Finnigan.
“We offered him a one-year deal with an option to renew for a further year and he accepted it,” said Koutroulis.
“Carl played for us in a friendly against Ajax and we were immediately impressed by him and we decided to sign him. He is a quality striker and his experience of playing in the Scottish Premiership will help assist us in our quest for a quick return to the PSL,” added Koutroulis.
As reported by the Siya crew, Koutroulis confirmed that Ajax were also impressed by the striker and were keen to sign him.
“They wanted to sign him. I used our good working relationship and I called Ajax and asked them not continue with their attempts to sign him and they agreed. They understood that we needed him more than them and I must thank them for their understanding,” concluded Koutroulis.
