As hard to believe as it might be for some in the football fraternity, Kaizer Chiefs could reconcile with some of the departed stars that were part of the club’s success last season.
The Amakhosi recently announced that Itumeleng Khune, Tefu Mashamaite and Mandla Masango are among the players on their way out of the club, in an official press conference at the Chiefs Village in Naturena last week.
The news shocked not only the Chiefs supporters but the local football fraternity at large, as some of the players have been influential for the club’s success over the years.
Fast forward to this week, the Siya crew have been reliably informed that the club could be willing to make peace with two of the departed stars in Khune and Masango.
A source close to the club’s dealings, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Soccer Laduma that Chiefs are willing to reconcile with the two players in particular.
Apart from Khune and Masango, the Chiefs management led by chairman, Kaizer Motaung, as well as football manager, Bobby Motaung, confirmed at the club’s conference that Siyabonga Nkosi, Josta Dladla, Katlego Mphela and Phakamani Mngadi are some of the players on their way out of the team.
It was further announced that Chris Matombo, Simphiwe Mtsweni, Zitha Macheke, Ovidy Karuru and Levy Mokgothu would be going out on loan.
According to sources, one of the club’s Directors is expected to sit down with Khune and Masango in private meetings, with a view to reconcile with the football stars.
The two players are currently in camp with Bafana Bafana, ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Gambia, as well as the international friendly against Angola.
