Bloemfontein Celtic could invade the market during the January transfer window in search of a goalkeeper in an effort to address their defensive woes.
Phunya Sele Sele have the worst defensive record in the PSL so far, having conceded 10 goals in six league matches and they are lying in 11th position on the table. One of new coach Ernst Middendorp’s challenges is to work on his last line of defence, where Patrick Tignyemb has not performed according to expectations.
He was dropped for the Macufe Cup last weekend in favour of Thembalethu Moses and sources at the club say Middendorp could start with the Uitenhage-born keeper in their next fixture, a league game against Moroka Swallows next week Tuesday.
Still, it is believed that the club will have a serious look at their goalkeeping department once the January transfer window opens, with the aim of signing an experienced goalkeeper who will inspire confidence in the team and make sure the back door remains shut.
