Mhlongo Explains Why CBL Cup Is Emotional For Him
Brighton Mhlongo To Honour Father's Passing
Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Brighton Mhlongo, has said that the Carling Black Label Cup will be an emotional match for him because it marks the anniversary of the day his father passed away.
In the 2014 edition of the preseason showcase event, Mhlongo was hit by the news that his father had passed away and the shot stopper has explained that the game against Chiefs will be an emotional affair for him.
“This is an anniversary for my father's passing and that's emotional to me,” he told the Siya crew. “This tournament is close to my heart.”
The Bafana Bafana goalkeeper went on to say that he hopes to lift the trophy in his father’s honour, like they did last season.
“Every time I play I would want to win to respect and remember him. Last season I played and we won and I want the same this season," Mhlongo concluded.
