News reaching the Siya crew is that the deal for Khama Billiat's move to Mamelodi Sundowns has been called off.
The Zimababwe midfielder looked set to complete a move to Chloorkop after Ajax Cape Town and the Brazilians had agreed a fee for the player.
It was then down to Billiat agreeing personal terms with the club, and after a delay in negotiations, Soccer-Laduma has now heard that Ajax have called the deal off.
"The deal between Ajax and Sundowns has taken too long so we have decided to call it off," Ajax director Ari Efstathiou told Soccer-Laduma.
He added, via the club's official Facebook page, "Eight days ago Ajax Cape Town and Mamelodi Sundowns agreed on terms for the transfer of Billiat to the Pretoria based outfit, subject to the player agreeing on personal terms with the club.
"We agreed to extend the time limit for the transfer to take place however no agreement was reached at the set deadline.
"The deal is now considered cancelled.”
The Siya crew had reported at the weekend that negotiations had come to a standstill as Billiat's representatives had asked to be given more time to come to a decision.
This was after Ajax and Sundowns had already confirmed that they had come to an agreement regarding the transfer fee for the midfielder.
The long-running transfer saga now seems to have been brought to a halt as Ajax confirmed that due to the drawn out negotiations, the deal has been called off.
