It seems that the Khama Billiat transfer soap opera has reached its conclusion, as the Siya crew can confirm that the Zimbabwe midfielder has signed on the dotted line with Mamelodi Sundowns.
The formalities are not entirely completed though, with Ajax Cape Town having to re-sign their part of the deal following their decision to call things off - though this should just be a formality.
The news brings to an end the most drawn out transfer saga of the off-season after weeks of back-and-forth negotiations between all parties.
Soccer-Laduma confirmed on Friday night that Billiat and his representative were still in talks with the Brazilians and were close to agreeing terms.
This came after the Siya crew heard just a day prior that the transfer of the Zimbabwe international was off after the Urban Warriors had become frustrated by the length of time it had taken for Sundowns to try and agree personal terms with the player.
Ajax director Ari Efstathiou confirmed that their deadline had passed, but admitted that should Sundowns and Billiat agree terms, then they would reconsider.
The deal also threatened to take another twist when Belgian Pro League outfit Club Brugge tabled an offer, but Sundowns have now got their man.
