Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed that the team’s new signing, Khama Billiat, has been included in the match day squad for tonight’s game against Platinum Stars.
Although the Zimbabwean only recently completed his move to Chloorkop, and missed the team’s preseason, he has worked hard enough to convince coach Pitso Mosimane and the technical team that he is ready to make his official debut for the Brazilians.
In addition, Sundowns confirmed that the team’s other new signing, Mukuka Mulenga, is still unavailable for selection, owing to injury.
The Brazilians confirmed earlier this month that the Zambian signed a three-year deal with the side. The 20-year-old played for Power Dynamos in the Zambian Premier League before making his move to Sundowns.
“When Mamelodi Sundowns take on Platinum Stars at Loftus Stadium, supporters will be eager to see their new recruits live in action for the very first time in the 2013/14 season.
"Zambian international Mulenga Makuka will not be available for the match as he joined the Brazilians carrying an injury he picked up while doing duty for his national team in the CHAN qualifiers.
"The good news is that of Khama Billiat, who has been included in the match day squad. Khamaldinho has been training with the team since 19 August and should have acclimatised to his new environment,” sundownsfc.co.za revealed.
Sundowns’ injury list as confirmed by the club is as follows; Punch Masenamela (ankle), Rodney Ramagalela (hamstring), Tiyani Mabunda (knee), Thela Ngobeni (knee), Mukuka Mulenga (ankle) and Thamsanqa Sangweni (calf muscle).
Anthony Laffor is suspended for the game, following the red card he received in the 3-1 win over Bloemfontein Celtic during the team’s opening game of the 2013/14 season.
