Sifiso Hlanti’s representatives have confirmed the defender’s new two-year deal at Bidvest Wits.
Having joined Wits on loan from AmaZulu during the second-half of the 2015/16 season, Hlanti excelled with his performances for Gavin Hunt’s team to become one of the best defenders in the league.
At the end of that season, the Students handed the player a new one-year deal with an option to extend for a further two years.
As confirmed to the Siya crew by the player’s agent Sizwe Ntshangase, the option on Hlanti’s deal has now been exercised to keep the Bafana Bafana left-back in Hunt’s league champions squad for the 2017/18 season.
“Wits have exercised their two-year option on Sifiso Hlanti’s contract. The player is happy and the club is happy,” said Ntshangase.
Hlanti, 27, is currently with Bafana in Nigeria for the weekend’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game against the Super Eagles.
