The Siya crew can confirm through various sources in the Bafana camp that the sacking of Thulani Serero came down to a bad attitude in the camp.
Sources have indicated that there were various issues which led to the decision. One being that on the flight from Johannesburg to Durban, Serero had annoyed a lot of his teammates by saying out loud that Bafana had only called him up when they were in trouble and needed a win.
It is said that these comments did not go down well with his teammates, who have been with the squad through thick and thin. This is despite the fact that many rate him highly as a player and feel that he could help the team - but his attitude could be better.
It is also said that the last straw came after the player said that he did not want to play after being selected, despite the Ajax Amsterdam midfielder being cleared by medical staff - something that Bafana Bafana management found unprofessional.
The news of Bafana's decision to remove Serero from camp on disciplinary reason was revealed on Friday night ahead of the game, while coach Gordon Igesund is expected to explain the decision in more detail after the clash with Botswana this afternoon.
