Maritzburg United have signed Andrea Fileccia from Free State Stars.
The striker revived his career and scored six goals in 11 PSL matches for Stars in the first half of the 2015/16 campaign before his season was disrupted by a horrific injury.
It was under coach Ernst Middendorp at Stars, following the club's changes to the technical team early last season, that Fileccia finally got to enjoy some game time at the Bethlehem outfit, in what was his second campaign with the team.
Now, having recovered from injury, the player has negotiated his release from Ea Lla Koto, with Siya sources confirming that he will be turning out for Maritzburg in the new season, under Middendorp.
The Siya crew has gathered that the Belgian striker is already training with the Team of Choice, having penned a two-year deal with the side.
Stars have identified Ghanaian striker Emmanuel Clottey as a possible replacement for Fileccia, with the player having already been invited for a trial in Bethlehem, under the team's new head coach Denis Lavagne.
