Ajax Cape Town coach, Roger De Sa, is understood to have entered talks with the club regarding a new deal.
The 50-year-old helped Ajax lift their first major piece of silverware in seven years when his side defeated Kaizer Chiefs in the final of the MTN8. This comes on the back guiding Ajax to an impressive fifth-place finish in the league last year and a runners-up medal in the Nedbank Cup.
In light of these successes, the latest news reaching the Siya crew is that the Urban Warriors are determined to ensure the long-term commitment of De Sa to the club.
“Roger de Sa is said to have started talks for a new deal. The coach initially signed a two-and-half-year deal and the club is looking to keep the mentor, who is in high demand. De Sa is well renowned beyond the borders of the country, and is said to have been approached by the likes of Al Ahly after he led Orlando Pirates to the CAF Champions League final in 2013,” a source told the Siya crew.
“In an effort to hold on to the coach, the Cape Town outfit are set to offer De Sa a long-term contract. They will face stiff competition as some opposition clubs would jump at the chance of wooing him away from them.”
“The names of Mamelodi Sundowns, Free State Stars, Maritzburg United and SuperSport United have all been bandied about. It has, however, been confirmed that De Sa is in talks for a new deal with the Cape-based side’s leadership,” the source indicated.
Do you think De Sa will stay at Ajax? If not, where would you like to see him?
