Ajax Cape Town approached FC Cape Town’s technical director, Boebie Solomons for a job within the team’s coaching structures, although no deal has been finalised as yet.
As reported in local media today, Ajax and the former Milano United head coach have agreed to a short-term deal for Solomons to team up alongside Mich D’ Avray as one of the assistant coaches to head coach, Stanley Menzo.
However, Solomons has since confirmed to Soccer Laduma that Ajax approached the 62-year-old but nothing has been finalised yet and the coach is currently still the technical director at FC Cape Town.
“They (Ajax) have approached me and right now I am still the technical director at FC Cape Town, so we haven’t yet finalised anything. But, there has been an approach made,” Solomons confirmed to Soccer Laduma.
Ajax finished off the 2016/17 Absa Premiership campaign at ninth place on the league standings, missing out on a spot in the MTN8 competition for the second season in a row.
Indications are that the Cape Town-based club will look to boost both the technical team structures and the squad, as they prepare to improve on their form in the new 2017/18 campaign.
