As one of the most prized players on FIFA, Diego Maradona was recently removed from the game as confirmed by Electronic Arts.
What’s the story?
The Argentine legend is regarded to be one of football’s greatest ever players, with many considering him to be the best to ever set foot on the pitch.
Maradona died aged 60 in November 2020, which sent shockwaves throughout the world of football. On FIFA22, the ex-Napoli and Barcelona attacker featured on four FIFA icons which were some of the most sought after on the game.
No More Maradona
The highest rated Maradona card comes with a 99 overall, however, players will no longer have the chance to utilise him in FIFA22.
As reported by the Mirror, EA revealed that Maradona will be removed from FIFA22 with immediate effect.
Following a third party legal dispute, Maradona will not be appearing in FIFA22 Ultimate Team Packs, Future FUT Content and the Soccer Aid World XI, EA revealed according to the Mirror.
