Pirates And Chiefs To Compete For Arrows Star?
Two Soweto Giants Linked With Kudakwashe Mahachi
Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs could be set to compete for the signature of Kudakwashe Mahachi at the end of the season, should the Zimbabwean be available for a transfer.
The Siya crew has been informed that Pirates have joined Chiefs in the pursuit of the player’s signature. The interest in the player from PSL clubs is growing, as confirmed by sources close to the 23-year-old.
Mahachi has been impressive with his performances for Golden Arrows and Chiefs were interested in him last year when they tried to sign him at the end of last season, as publicly stated by the player himself.
However, he opted to join Arrows on a permanent deal after parting ways with Sundowns. It has since emerged that Chiefs are believed to have rekindled their interest in the attack-minded player, as reported in issue 1016 of Soccer Laduma.
As reported in the latest edition of Soccer Laduma, issue 1018, it is believed that Steve Komphela’s side could decide to make further attempts to lure the Zimbabwean to Naturena this year, in preparation for next season.
But sources in the know have confirmed that Pirates have entered the race for the player’s services and that they could try and use the good business relationship they have with Arrows to their favour to try and sign Mahachi before any other club at the end of the current campaign.
