Ghanaian international, Thomas Abbey is currently being assessed by Ajax Cape Town, this according to Siya sources.
The 24-year-old Hearts of Oaks midfielder experienced a stellar 2016/17 campaign in the Ghanaian Premier League last season, where he reportedly scored 13 goals for his side.
Reports in Ghana have since linked the player with a move to Minnesota United in the MLS, however, Siya sources have informed the crew that the player is currently in Mzansi, after he was spotted training with Ajax.
Sources have added that the Urban Warriors are keen on adding the Ghanaian to their books as they look to make squad improvements in the upcoming January transfer window.
At this point in time, indications are that the player is still set to undergo a few more training sessions under the watchful eye of Head Coach Stanley Menzo and his technical team and it remains to be seen how soon Ajax will look to secure the player’s signature on a professional contract.
