Pirates Complete Nigerian Goalkeeper Signing

Orlando Pirates Registering Emmanuel Daniel

Orlando Pirates have completed the signing of goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel.

The Nigerian was signed by the Buccaneers during the January transfer window, following his impressive trial with the club. In one of the friendly games for Bucs earlier this month, Daniel impressed in goals against National First Division side Black Leopards, with the Nigerian U23 shot-stopper keeping a clean sheet at the Orlando Stadium on that day.

“(Mamelodi) Sundowns was the first PSL club that showed interest in the player. But Pirates were quick to sign him. He is a very good goalkeeper that will add value at Pirates,” a source told the Siya crew.

Pirates are currently enduring a goalkeeping crisis. The team’s first-choice goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo has been struggling with an injury, while second choice goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane is suspended following his red card.

Yesterday, Pirates confirmed that they would be parting ways with Ghanaian midfielder Edwin Gyimah. His departure has opened one space in Bucs’ foreign quota for the season, which the club is likely to use to strengthen the goalkeeping department.

Furthermore, Nigerian website Owngoalnigeria.com has confirmed that Daniel has left Enugu Rangers. Daniel has joined fellow Nigerian in defender James Okwuosa in the Pirates camp.

It remains to be seen if Bucs will successfully register the shots-topper in time for Saturday’s game against Cape Town City.

Pirates got no stable central midfieders beside Gyimah who ws just sacked and Masalesa who ws released,de rest are nothing but cows our defenders alwys left exposed dey opened freeway on dat area nobody is willing to commit for a tackle, marking is a foreign things for dem,de only solution now maybe is to play both,Shitolo,Mobara and Manyisa at de same time to avoid conceeding left, right and centre wth lone striker and one or two wingers just to bring stability on dat midfield

Pirates have a massive squad but the coach select a team of the day from the same players who does not give him the 3 points. Why are the following players not being played at all; Thabiso Kutumela (23), Roger Majafa (27), Riyaad Norodien (21), Ayanda Nkosi (24), Bernard Morris (24), Gladwin Shitolo (27), Ntsikelelo Nyauza (26) and Tercious Malepe (19). All these players were brought to Pirates because something was seen from them. Why not play them or give them a chance, most of them are young and I think they are hungry to prove why they are Pirates players. Most of them, in my mind, have the age on their side or are we also saying they are young. We are doing so bad now, what are we going to lose, give these boys play time as see wonders.

I know this rats coach is gonna start with the new goalkpr but he only got few training session with the team instead of starting with Mpontshane same thing he did on that 6-0 drubbing. He start with Okwasu and the ngamla left back instead of Gymah and Phungwayo
