Mamelodi Sundowns are currently running the rule over a Ghanaian goalkeeper as they look to possibly add the shot-stopper to their books in the coming weeks.
As reported on Soccer Laduma on March 24, reports in Ghana previously revealed that Sundowns were expected to finalise a deal for Richard Ofori last week.
Now, Siya sources within the Masandawana camp have confirmed that the 23-year-old is currently being assessed by Head Coach Pitso Mosimane and his technical team as they look to bolster their goalkeeping department.
Although the Brazilians currently have all five of their foreign quota sports filled by Ricardo Nascimento, Leonardo Castro, Yannick Zakri, Fares Hachi and Soumahoro Bangaly, a Siya source has indicated that Masandawana will look to sign the goalkeeper and subsequently send him out on loan until a foreign quota spot becomes available for him.
Sundowns are yet to officially confirm that the goalkeeper is currently at the Chloorkop-based club and it remains to be seen whether the Ghanaian will do enough to land himself a professional contract with the CAF Champions League winners in the coming days or weeks.
As reported on Soccer Laduma previously, goalkeeper Thela Ngobeni is expected to return to Masandawana after his loan spell with Free State Stars expires at the end of the 2016/17 campaign.
The Brazilians currently have Ngobeni, Kennedy Mweene, Denis Onyango and Wayne Sandilands on their books in the goalkeeping department with a possibility of making Ofori their fifth shot-stopper.
