Mamelodi Sundowns Approach Andile Jali, Kaizer Chiefs Have Competition
The Siya crew has been informed by a reliable source that the CAF Champions League winners, Mamelodi Sundowns, have joined Kaizer Chiefs in a race to bring Andile Jali back to his home country.
As reported in last week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, Chiefs have added the Belgium-based midfielder to their wish-list, but the price-tag on the player’s head could make Amakhosi shy away from their interest in the player.
However there is more than just one reason why the Soweto giants will have a fight on their hands to land their target.
As revealed in this week’s Soccer Laduma, the Siya crew has since been informed that should the player look to move back to South Africa, Jali would consider his former club first and would not want to unsettle management at Orlando Pirates by joining their cross-city rivals.
However, Amakhosi are also battling it out with more than just one other PSL giant for the player’s signature. According to Siya sources, Mamelodi Sundowns’ head coach Pitso Mosimane has allegedly reached out to the player, stating his desire to bring Jali to the Chloorkop-based club.
Jali has been struggling for game-time at KV Oostende, however, still has 15 months left on his contract with the Belgium-based club, and as reported previously the outfit wanted upwards of €1.5m (±R21m) for his services.
Now it remains to be seen what will come of the player’s future in Belgium, however, if the player is keen on taking the next step of his professional footballing career, a move to another European-based club or anywhere abroad cannot be ruled out.
