Chiefs Close In On First New Signing?

Kaizer Chiefs could be closing in on their first new signing of the 2016/17 season as they look to land long-term target, Teenage Hadebe.

The 21-year-old, who was on trial with Chiefs last year and went to the Africa Cup of Nations with Zimbabwe, is said to have impressed Steve Komphela and his technical team during his spell there, despite the fact that a move never materialised at the time.

Now, with the club looking to bolster their backline after another trophyless season, it is thought that Hadebe has made his way to the top of their wanted list.

As reported in this week’s issue of Soccer Laduma, the Glamour Boys are believed to have upped their efforts to get him on board, with Chairman, Kaizer Motaung, recently having confirmed that they are in the market for new defenders.

The crew contacted Vina Maphosa, Chiefs’ Corporate Communications Manager, for comment on whether they were increasing their efforts to sign Hadebe, however, had received no response by the time of going to print.

Hadebe is still playing for Chicken Inn at present but would be open to a move to the Absa Premiership if the opportunity arose.
