Ovono To Leave South Africa?
Felipe Ovono Struggling In Club Search
Felipe Ovono could be set to leave South Africa to search for a new club elsewhere, after he was not signed at the University of Pretoria.
Since leaving Orlando Pirates in January, Ovono has struggled in his search for a club. The goalkeeper spent some time training with AmaTuks in the National First Division, as reported by the Siya crew.
Ovono had earlier planned to jet off to Turkey to join Gaziantepspor in the Turkish Super Lig, after he parted ways with Pirates.
However, after the proposed deal fell through at the end of January, the shot-stopper was left with only the option of looking for a team in Mzansi.
But with time running out for him, the Equatorial Guinea goalkeeper is likely to leave the country to continue with his search elsewhere.
The player’s camp has been in communication with clubs in Europe about the possibility of having a look at Ovono. The player's former teammate at Bucs, Edwin Gyimah, is currently in Sweden and being assessed at Helsingborg.
