In the second instalment of the important battles likely to take place this Saturday in the Carling Black Label Cup, we take a look at Kaizer Chiefs striker, David Zulu, against Orlando Pirates defender, Siyabonga Sangweni.
Zulu joined Chiefs from Chippa United in January after scoring five goals in 17 appearances for the Chilli Boys in the 2014/15 campaign. However since joining the Amakhosi the 29-year-old has struggled for game time, only making five substitute appearances under departed head coach Stuart Baxter.
The attacker is yet to open his account at Chiefs and will have his work cut out for him when he comes up against the experienced Sangweni on Saturday.
Sangweni made 30 starts for the Buccaneers in all competitions last season and even netted four goals in the process. The 33-year-old centre back is getting on in years though and after playing the full 90 minutes against CS Sfaxien in Tunisia on Sunday, his workload will have to be closely monitored.
It will be interesting to see who will come out on top in this battle. Will Zulu be able to run rings around the big centre back? Or will Sangweni continue to frustrate the striker in the search for his first goal in Amakhosi colours? Let us know your thoughts.
