Swedish-based South African teenager, Luther Singh, has been forced to miss out on game time as he returned home to renew his passport.
The 18-year-old Stars of Africa graduate made a bright start to his career in Europe last season with GAIS, scoring two goals in eight games before an injury brought his campaign to an abrupt halt.
Now, with the 2016 season underway, Singh is back fit again and raring to go – starting the opening game of the Swedish Cup against Helsingborg recently - however had to miss the clash with Orebro this weekend due to passport problems.
It remains to be seen how long Singh, who had to apply for his passport renewal in person in Mzansi, will be unavailable for selection for GAIS, however he will no doubt be eager to put the matter to bed as soon as possible.
With the Swedish Cup taking place over the months of February and March, Singh is unlikely to miss any league games, with the Superettan only getting underway on April 2nd when GAIS host Frej.
