Zungu Passes Portuguese Medical, Starts Training
Bongani Zungu is getting his new life in Portugal underway this week after passing his medicals and beginning training with Vitória de Guimarães.
The 23-year-old, who hasn’t played football since January when he was injured playing for Mamelodi Sundowns, will be excited to get himself back out on the field again after making his first venture into Europe following his Chloorkop exit.
According to Siya sources, Zungu is looking to play a role in Guimarães’ preseason preparations in the build-up to the 2016/17 campaign, and is currently working hard in order to make sure that he gets back to full fitness as soon as possible.
Zungu will be put through his paces by the club this week as they look to check that he is in good shape following his arrival over the weekend, and there is a chance that he could feature in the friendly Torneio do Centenário do Varzim competition on 16 and 17 July.
The Bafana Bafana international will join Thibang Phete, who scored in a friendly this weekend, and Haashim Domingo as the South African representatives at the club following his move from Sundowns at the end of his contract.
