Former Bafana Bafana captain, Bongani Khumalo has kept Manchester United’s Radamel Falcao quiet as Tottenham Hotspurs U-21 clashed with the Red Devils' reserve.
The central defender captained his side on Tuesday night, and can be proud of his performance as the Manchester United forward failed to cause any threat.
The Mzansi star has not featured in Tottenham’s first team all season, as he’s been recovering from a serious knee injury, but has been a regular for the under-21 side.
Falcao, a former Atletico Madrid and Monaco forward, would have been one of the toughest opponents that the South African defender have gone up against, and Khumalo did a great job, as Falcao was taken off with 15 minutes remaining.
Khumalo hasn’t played a single senior appearance for the London club’s senior side since joining them in 2011, and with his contract expiring at the end of the season, the defender’s time as a Tottenham player may soon be coming to an end.
The former Bafana captain has played 43 times for South Africa, but hasn’t featured in the national team since last year, when they lost 5-0 to Brazil in an international friendly.
