Ex-Amakhosi Trio Avoid Suspension, Ready To Face Chiefs
SuperSport United Have No Suspensions v Kaizer Chiefs
SuperSport United will be suspension free going into this weekend’s Nedbank Cup clash against Kaizer Chiefs and will be boosted by Thabo Mnymane’s return.
Matsatsantsa had a whopping seven players just one yellow card away from suspension ahead of the clash with the Amakhosi on Wednesday, however, a number of players were rested and the ones who played avoided bookings.
Stuart Baxter’s side all but surrendered their place in the Absa Premiership title race as they lost consecutive games to Mamelodi Sundowns and will turn their focus to retaining the Nedbank Cup after they won it last season.
Going into the Sundowns game, SuperSport had Dean Furman, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Morgan Gould, Reyaad Pieterse, Onismor Bhasera, Denwin Farmer and Michael Morton all close to suspensions, although they remained unscathed in the game as only Teboho Mokoena was booked.
The Tshwane-based outfit also receives a welcome boost with the return of Mnyamane, who is back and available for selection after serving a two-game ban for a red card in the Nedbank Round of 16.
Chiefs host SuperSport at 18h00 on Saturday night.
