Komphela Hits Back… “Acornbush Coach Must Be Charged!”
Steve Komphela says that Acornbush United’s head coach must be charged for bringing the game into disrepute following his recent comments about Kaizer Chiefs.
After the Amakhosi’s 2-1 win over the ABC Motsepe League side on Sunday, Acornbush’s MacDonald Makhubedu launched into a scathing attack on the Glamour Boys.
He said, "If this is the biggest team in the country, the national team will suffer. The big teams in the country must be honest, play big players and buy big players. The country is suffering.
"Everyone came to watch the biggest team in the country and then they watch this, come on. I wanted my team to learn to day, it was not fruitful for me as a coach. "
Speaking tonight after Chiefs were drawn against reigning champions, SuperSport United, Komphela hit back and Makhudebu, and other coaches who ‘talk lots of rubbish’.
Komphela told the media, “I think the PSL must take action… I think most of us coaches we just talk lots of rubbish and we know that we are not accountable. Some of us must account.
“There had been a build-up on this and we all stood and watched. The PSL must take action, and also I don’t know what’s going wrong with these coaches. Listen, after a defeat, be gracious. You always learn what to do and what not to do in any situation.
“At Chiefs we don’t run people down. We have massive respect. The ‘R’ in Kaizer Chiefs is an acronym for respect. We have that in abundance, but people are running amuck and saying things that are just disgraceful.”
“It is not a reflection of their intelligence,” he concluded. “It is a reflection of something else, and the PSL must charge ‘us’, because we’re bringing the game into disrepute.
“These guys must be charged. Finish and klaar. They are out of order… Think before you say things.”
