Orlando Pirates have a number of players who are currently one card away from suspension, while Golden Arrows and SuperSport each have a player suspended for this weekend’s Nedbank Cup clashes.
The Nedbank Cup semi-finals will take place this Saturday and Sunday, with Chippa United locking horns with SuperSport on May, 20 and Arrows set to face Pirates on May, 21.
The Premier Soccer League confirmed that Arrows’ Danny Phiri and Matsatsantsa’s Keegan Ritchie will not be featuring in this weekend’s Nedbank encounters as they will be facing a one-match suspension.
However, all four clubs have several of their players currently walking a suspension tightrope with three yellow card bookings. Should the respective players pick up their fourth caution this weekend, they could possibly miss the final game of the Absa Premiership campaign, which are crucial fixtures for both sides.
Notably, Pirates’ Riyaad Norodien, Thembinkosi Lorch, Dove Wome and James Okwuosa have all accumulated three yellow cards, while SuperSport’s Denwin Farmer, Grant Kekana and Michael Morton are also on three yellow card bookings.
Head Coach, Clinton Larsen, also has a few of his players who are on three yellow cards, with the likes of Kudakwashe Mahachi and Wayde Jooste to name a few, while Chippa’s Daniel Akpeyi and Diamond Thopola are also on three yellow card bookings.
