Khoza Singles Out Chiefs Supporters
The Premier Soccer League’s chairman says that he is aware that not all the supporters were involved in the hooliganism, which took place over the weekend.
Speaking to the media, Khoza revealed that there were certain supporters at the Moses Mabhida Stadium who did not take part in the criminal act, adding that whoever was involved will pay the price.
“We condemn what has happened and we understand that it is not all the supporters, if you can see at the Moses Mabhida, on the side of the presidential suite, the supporters were not that active, it was a few of them who were active, on the northern side, they were more active in terms of invading the pitch, so it is not everybody who is involved in this (escapade) that causes such problems for us,” Khoza told the media.
“But we are saying we are doing everything in our power together with the police because without the police we can not solve this problem and it is important for the first time that people take responsibility because we cannot say that the club is going to pay, you must pay because I mean no club is going there to lose, everyone wants to win and I know that all of us have emotional attachment to our clubs,” he added.
Dr Khoza confirmed that there is an ongoing investigation underway with regards to the supporters who engaged in vandalism and violence following Kaizer Chiefs’ loss to Free State Stars in the Nedbank Cup competition.
