Former FC Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o has insisted that, without a doubt, there is only one winner in the Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo debate.
The retired Cameroon international believes his former teammate is better than the Argentine's Real Madrid rival, and will be the world’s best for another 10 years.
“I didn’t play with (Lionel) Messi, he played with me,” he told Turkish TV, as quoted by Sport.
“I saw him grow at Barcelona. And I can say, without any doubt, that he is better than Cristiano Ronaldo.
“He’s the best player in the world and he will be so for 10 more years.”
Eto’o, who is currently third-best goalscorer in Turkey with 14 goals for Antalayaspor, also commented on Arda Turan’s time with the Catalan giants so far.
“He is one of the best Turkish players. He’s still not adapted to Barça, but he will do,” he added.
Messi has scored 36 goals in 36 appearances this season, while Ronaldo sits on 40 strikes in the same amount of games.
