Real Madrid superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, is eager to break his own records this season and wants to win the La Liga as well as the Champions League.
The 29-year-old was recently voted UEFA’s Best Player in Europe and also won the FIFA Ballon d’Or earlier in the year, while on club level he added the Copa del Rey and Champions League trophy to his cabinet.
“Well, it was a fantastic year,” he told the Telegraph.
“We won the Champions League, we won La Décima, the trophy that Real Madrid had been looking for a lot.
“So this season we’re going to try to do the same, to win the Champions again, to win La Liga.
“And in terms of individual achievements I’m going to try to break my own records. I know it’s tough, but I’m going to try.”
The Portuguese also reflected on the moment when he burst into tears after his son, Cristiano jnr, joined him on stage at the FIFA Ballon d’Or awards ceremony.
“Definitely one of the greatest moments of my life, when he was there in my arms,” he added.
“It was a moment of honesty, I guess. I felt incredibly emotional, so I cried.”
