Luis Suarez was labelled as a transfer flop earlier this season, but a sudden rise in form has seen him overtake Cristiano Ronaldo in terms of goals scored in 2015.
The FC Barcelona striker, who joined the Catalan giants for €81 million, has finally found the form that prompted Barca to lure him from Liverpool in the first place.
Suarez has now scored eight goals since the turn of the year, one more than Real Madrid talisman Ronaldo.
In addition, Suarez has also set up seven goals for his teammates, while Ronaldo has only assisted four goals since the turn of the year.
What’s even more pleasing for Luis Enrique is that Suarez has started firing when Lionel Messi draws blanks.
First came his brace in the 2-1 Champions League victory at Manchester City, before Wednesday night’s important goal in the 3-1 Copa del Rey second-leg win over Villarreal.
Overall, Suarez has now scored 10 goals and assisted a further 13 in 25 games for Barcelona.
Suarez will have the chance to continue his fine form when Barcelona face Rayo Vallecano in La Liga on Sunday.
