Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has listed a couple of top strikers to challenge him for this year's Golden Shoe, but appeared to have snubbed Lionel Messi.
The Portugal captain received the award as last season's top striker in Europe and was questioned on who he thinks can rival him in this campaign.
However, when he answered, it appears Ronaldo snubbed longstanding rival Messi, who has only scored three goals so far and is sidelined until the end of November.
"There are many great forwards in Europe, in many leagues, the English, the German... ," he said, as quoted by ESPN.
"(Wayne) Rooney, (Sergio) Aguero, (Robert) Lewandowski, Neymar, (Karim) Benzema is also very good. Luis Suarez again.
"There are great players and I feel privileged to have won it four times.
"But I want to keep winning more. We will see what happens this year."
Ronaldo became the first player win the European Golden Shoe for a fourth time – Messi has won it three times.
